We are offering 4 children, each with an accompanying adult, the chance to win a place to travel with Santa. On Saturday 15th November he is coming to the store to open his Grotto; the winners will travel with him and receive an extra special gift from Santa made exclusively for them. There is a competition for 1 place per month open to children age 3 and above. July 14th is the launch date for place number 1. Available in many vibrant colours from reds to blues and pinks these hardy perennials are very attractive to bees and butterflies.

The very essence of the British Garden Roses produce beautiful flowers over a long period with many colours and styles available. With stunning strong summer fragranced varieties and wide choice from stand alone shrubs, patio roses and as climbers and ramblers for sunny walls, pergolas and arches there is room for a rose in every garden.

We are big supporters of the RHS and are very excited about the Chelsea Flower show which opens tomorrow. It is always interesting to see the latest developments and of course the wonderful show gardens and displays.

One of our Houseplant suppliers, Dibleys Nurseries is presenting the most wonderful display of Streptocarpus in one of the Marquees again this year; if you keep an eye on our Twitter feed we will post a link on there so you can see yourself.

Come along to the centre over the bank holiday weekend and take a look at our fantastic new range of chilli plants including the Bhut Jolokia variety- the hottest in the world on the Scoville scale. Invented by Wilbur Scoville in 1912 this is a gauge of how hot a chilli is with the heat coming from the inside of the chilli, not the seeds themselves as is commonly believed. With some of the more familiar names, including Jalapenos, there are some really interesting varieties for every taste. If you are a fan of the hot stuff why not try growing your own?

Pelargonium

Extremely popular plants due in part to the endless flowering from may to September.

Tolerant of drought and very low maintenance these are ideal plants for easy gardening and they combine well with trailing plants in the centre of summer hanging baskets.

The Easter Bunny is with us on Saturday 19th from 11.30 until 3.00 He will be helping our younger visitors with the Easter trail and handing out treats to all those who follow the trail and find the clues. We have face painting, an egg decorating activity and the Capital radio Street Stars are with us at lunchtime. With all this plus our great coffee shop and fantastic seasonal plants and gardening ideas, Brookfields is definitely the place for some Easter family fun!

We have lots of activities taking place during the school holidays so why not come along and join in. Open to children between ages 2-10.

8th April

Paint a wooden bird nesting box. Only £3 per child with all materials provided. Places were limited and have now sold out but we will be running another session, just join our Premier Club to be updated as soon as tickets are available to book.

10th April

Make a Cress head; have fun with some soil and seeds! Only £1 per session with all proceeds donated to our adopted charities. There is no need to book and the tables will be set up between 10.30 and 3.30, if space becomes limited...
